Upgrading the firmware

Essentially, you need to download the update from here, look at the instructions here (cached here) and follow them. It involves unzipping the archive and copying it to the PMP. The PMP's own firmware upgrade system then can be used and it sorts itself out very well. The only problem is that the firmware upgrade has a default language of Korean. The instructions (Shamrockman's) are easily to follow to put the unit back into English.

Why Upgrade?

If the firmware on your PMP is already v2.04, then you don't need to. Otherwise, you may find that you're limited to a 20Gb partition, even if you have a larger drive.
