Put in the New Drive
More info can be found
here (cached
here).
The steps are:
- Carefully remove the connector to the old drive - I used a small
flat-head screwdriver and gave a small turn with it between the connector
and the drive. I did this a few places across the width and the connector
came out easily without bending too much.
- Take the old drive out of its rubber.
- Cut one side of the rubber off to use with the new drive (unless your
drive is the 5mm form factor).
- Put the drive back in the drive bay with the rubber underneath it and
the little bits of packing around it.
- Reattach the cable to the drive and put the circuit board back on
carefully.
Be sure to note the way the original drive comes out and which way round the
connector is attached.
