Daily Tease home > backlash

I subscribed to the daily tease - produced by the shagmail mailing list group. The purpose of the list - despite the sleazy connotations of its name - is to set a mental puzzle each day (including solution), with a weekly puzzle as a competition.

Initially, it was a good mailing list to be on. A work colleague joined the list as a result. However, the previous editor - Michelle - decided to quit and we got Janie as a replacement. My colleague has left the list. I should have followed.

Instead, I have stuck with them and even emailed them (no replies as yet) to ask for improvements.

In this instance, the puzzle had been:

A newly wed couple break down on the way to their honeymoon. The husband leaves the wife in the car while he goes for help. He instructs her to keep the doors closed and locked. When he returns to the car, he finds his wife dead and there is a stranger in the car. Since she followed his instructions, how did she die?

The answer was this:

She had been heavily-pregnant and died in childbirth in his absence. The stranger was his new-born son.

Now, where do I start picking this to bits? >>
